    Basic scanner driver please

While we wait for NR for Mac to get up to speed, can you please release a basic Mac scanning utility to use the scanner.  This would be a small app that would let you set scan parameters, file format to save as (PDF, JPEG; TIFF or PNG nice but optional), set save folder, and select between a user-selectable list of applications (e.g. Mail, Preview, etc.) to open the resulting file after it is done scanning.  It should also prompt you for the next page so you can scan double sided and multiple page documents into a single file.

I often have need to scan documents in the field, but not necessarily receipts.  It would be more convenient to scan directly to files than to scan to the NR software and then open up the inspector and then do a save as from there.

    Thank you.

Count me as a vote for this too. Simply tweaking the existing driver so it works smoothly with Mac's Image Capture utility would be a huge help. A TWAIN driver (or even some ideas on using Plustek's existing M12 TWAIN driver) would be even better.

Are you saying that using your Neat Receipts Scanner with Preview.app doesn't work for you, or are you saying that using the scanner with Preview.app doesn't do what you want it to do?

FWIW, I am able to use the Neat Receipts scanner with Preview.app to scan just fine.

You can make it go through image capture, but if you want to take it to the next step, for example running a business card scan through Card Iris, it has to be done manually every time. What I'd like is to be able to select the neat receipts scanner as a source for programs such as Card Iris. Making a TWAIN compatible driver would provide that common pathway. Of course, not every program out there is TWAIN compatible, but a lot are and it seems to be the closest thing to a lowest common denominator. The NR scanner is made by Plustek, which does have a Mac/TWAIN driver for its M12 model, which looks a whole lot like the NR device. I've read postings on other forums about a hack to make the M12 driver work with the NR device, but haven't had the time to run it down and try to figure it out.
