So I was wondering if NR for MACs is going to be able to do Business Cards?

When scanning business cards, I need to keep track of the department and business unit of corporate contacts in order for my contacts information to sync up with our Salesforce database.
It is not clear how to add custom fields to the business card database in NeatReceipts (I'm using version 3.0.4 on a Windows XP machine).

I have just purchased the NR and have installed the software. I have version 2.5.5.
1). The scanned business card images are extremely poor quality and they have a black bar to the right side of the business card. The information is not being recognized in the name & address as well.

You are correct. The VCard file format does not support images.
Here's something you can do to get the images in NR, in the business card section. It may not solve your complete purpose, but I think as of now it is the only way to do what you are looking for:

By MSExcel, did you mean you imported them in a .csv file format? Do you know if your CRM imports a vCard file?
A .csv file export would contain all the fields that you see in the top grid in NeatReceipts.
