Re: NEAT Receipts and Windows Vista

I've just purchased a new pc that unfortunately is 64 bit.    I'm not too computer saavy so if anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it.

I had purchased the NeatReceipt prior to getting the new PC and was so looking forward to it.    My older PC wouldn't let me install it, NeatReceipt tech support couldn't help me resolve the issued and they directed me to Microsoft, who said, oh yeah, we can help you however it will cost $250.00

Well, needless to say I wasn't going that route.    Can someone tell me on the Plustek driver exactly what driver I need to download.   I saw so many on their site and got totally confused.

     Thanks

Re: NEAT Receipts and Windows Vista

Has anyone tried installing V3.0 on a Vista 64 system and using the OS's "compatibility mode" to run the NeatReceipts application?

I have a 64-bit OS machine and am contemplating purchasing NR V3.0 but need some assurance it can be made to work.

So far these posts imply is probably won't -- but didn't see anyone who talked about the Compatibility Mode approach.

    Thanks.

    Don

Re: NEAT Receipts and Windows Vista

I am in the same boat - due to memory requirements - i had to go 64 bit to support over 3G memory

my new laptop is 64 bit vista and my new desktop is 64 bit XP

i have purchsed several NR scanners and software, to now find out it is usless -  Yes is DID have them working on 32bit systems - but due to hardware wearing out and need to upgrade, NR is not able to be used.

Can we please see some type of responce to this growing issue? I would like to know that the developers at at least trying to look into 64 bit or not.

No answer = they do not care and are not willing to progress, and if this is the case, i will stop promoting them as i travel around the SW States in the course of my job. Yes i am a no body, but one w/ a big mouth, and up untill now - i have been promoting this product freely.

thanks for taking time to look at my post.

    Just a simply guy

need driver for Vista never installed my new scanner - can't find the driver download anywhere HELP PLEASE! Re: NEAT Receipts and Windows Vista

I paid $157.50 with sales (am on SS Disability beyond my control).  Hope you can help, thank you.

Help please.  I have new never installed Neat Receipts. I don't have the driver download cd, and nowhere on Neat Receipts site can I find it.  I misplaced the driver & paperwork the night I bought it, found the hardware today. My laptop burned out the other day so my new system has Windows Vista Home Premium.

On packaging it says item # 260908 there aren't any notations which operating systems it was compatible with, and on back of the scanner it says M/N: SCSA4601EU.

I'll try to contact their customer service dept. this week.  I checked their site but I can't find a blank search box nor can I find my item number on their list of choices.

Any suggestions where I can download it since you mentioned you had successfully installed yours?  I see that others couldn't  install theirs successfully.

    Thank you kindly,

Re: NEAT Receipts and Windows Vista

I am just one more originally satisfied customers that is joining the grumbling ranks of turncoats.  A friend introduced me to his Neat Receipts Scanalizer several months ago.  I purchased one and carry it with me whenever I go on business travel.  I have been a relentless seller of this product to anyone I know... until... Vista 64.  My Dell Laptop met its maker and in a moment of weakness, I purchased a Toshiba laptop which ran Vista 64.  The only thing that was more surprising to me that the fact that I couldn't load the software was the countless other who have expressed frustration with Neat Receipts and the deafening silence about their resolution with this problem.  Unfortunately, I am now acting as a warning bell to anyone considering purchasing this product.  Not simply because they do not have software which runs on Vista 64, but by the fact that a year has gone by since the original post and Neat Receipts has yet to act.

It is like watching a buggy maker laugh at a Model T as it drives by.  Well, Neat Reciepts, it's now up to you.  Do we get an update and soon or should we jump on the Model T and not look back.  It would be a shame to walk away from a product that I liked so much because a company was so unwilling to either update or at least COMMUNICATE about the potential.

The ball is in your court.

Re: NEAT Receipts and Windows Vista

Almost all the new laptops and machines coming out of Dell, HP and IBM are coming with 4GB of RAM or greater and Vista X64 sp1.  I think you guys really need to step up and start to support 64 bit faster that you planned to do it!

Re: NEAT Receipts and Windows Vista

This is your website, Neat Receipts.  Are you guys paying any attention???!!!  Reposting your response from a year ago is useless.  What are you doing to address this issue?  At a minimum you owe it to your customers to advise as to 1) your plans on addressing Vista 64 users; 2) a general description as to what will be needed to address the issue 3) the  current status of your efforts to address the issue and 4) a realistic launch date for an update.  A lot of people shelled out their money in the hope that they purchased a product that would make an effort to keep current with technology and would not become obsolete within a year.   Other companies have addressed this issue successfully.  Why haven't you?

    Kelsey50,
We are currently working on 64-bit support.  I do not have an exact ETA at this time, however, beta testing will start soon.  If you're interested, please email me at jchoi@neatco.com.

    Sincerely,
    Jenn

When? I just bought a scanner and it doesn't work with Vista.  What were you guys thinking of taking a year to start supporting 64?

    Jenn,

M/N scsa4601eu How do I install this Scanner on my Vista 32-bit system. The disk that came with the Scanner does not work with Vista. It is not a 64-bit system. There is no information on your web site for this equipment.
