Im a new user in Canada. As NR has now started to get some suppliers up and running in the great white north it would seem that they have a wish to expand the market for this really nice product here?
That being the case I have a couple of requests:
First we need either an add on or an enhancement to take care of CANADIAN tax categories. It seems more than a little unfair that we are expected to pay a premium for the product (Its about $250 up here) compared to our US friends and yet we have to do without a big chunk of its functionality. And we dont get the 30 day return policy up here either. Come on guys?
Second we have a different tax system. Fair enough that NR can recognise GST and PST as well as the US "Tax" but NR needs to know that ALL Canadian companies are able to claim back from our federal government the GST on certain categories of expenditure eg meals and entertainment for instance. So naturally companies are going to want the GST on these categories splitting out on expense forms. Unfortunately at the moment NR can only map the GST on everything to one column when exporting to our expense forms. We need GST by category please, so that we can map the different categories of GST separately and our excel forms can NEATly add up the GST on these refundable categories for our accounting departments (excuse the pun). This is not a personal request. Its a general thing for Canadian companies.
Lastly I am told that when scanalising my receipts into the otherwise fantastic program in any order, that though I can reorder them by date in the NR program it ALWAYS exports the receipt data and receipt images in alphabetic order by vendor. Since my company is not interested in Vendor details and this is therefore not mapped to my expense form the receipt details and images come out when exported to excel in a seemingly RANDOM order as far as my accounts department are concerned. Sure I can use data sort in excel to get the receipt details in date order but that still leaves the receipts in "random" order which does not please the bean counters at all. I cant believe that you could date order in previous versions but NOT in the latest version 3. Are we going backwards here or what?
So Mr Neat receipts, if you want to sell a shed load more of this superb life changing product to Canadians, you might like to think about fixing the above.
Thanks for a great product though. I used to hate doing my expenses with a real passion and woulld often get weeks behind. Now I find Im (almost) looking forward to doing them
